** A lot of Gator sports activity this weekend with most of it away. The Gator swim teams will host a three day meet starting Friday while Gator volleyball and soccer will have two SEC road matches each this weekend. And Gator football plays at Kentucky Saturday.
** The San Francisco 49ers rip the St.Louis Rams 35-11 in NFL action on Thursday. San Francisco running back Frank Gore ran for 153 yards in the win.
** MLB Commissioner Bud Selig announces he will retire at the end of next season.
** Speaking of baseball, Tampa Bay keeps a one game wild card lead on Cleveland after beating the New York Yankees 4-0 Thursday. The Rays end the regular season at Toronto. Cleveland ends the year at Minnesota. Texas is two games out and ends the season at home against the LA Angels.
** EA Sports has settled all lawsuits brought against the company by former and current college players for using their likenesses in the video games without them being paid. The NCAA is still being sued over the same issue and is not part of this settlement.
