The Oak Hall Eagles have to forfeit their game against the Bell High Bulldogs tonight due to a rash of injuries that have decimated the team. Oak Hall administration has decided to forfeit the game in order to help the team heal up a little longer.
Head coach of the Eagles, Scott McDaniel, gave more insight as to the administration’s decision to cancel the game.
“My administration made the determination that we could use the week off…we have a fairly desperate injury situation, etc. that has been haunting us for about a month and half.”
While every coach and player has that want/need to play every single week, McDaniel views this forfeit as an opportunity to have some extra days to work on the fundamentals and just get healthier.
“If nothing else it gives us a few days of just basic practice. (We’ll be) continuing to work on fundamentals (and other drills) that we aren’t very good at right now.”
Oak Hall’s next scheduled game is next Friday at home versus their city rival the St. Francis Wolves.
