The Florida Gator volleyball team continued its sweeping trend as they defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs in straight games 25-15, 25-21, and 25-11 on the road on Friday.
Despite the dominance on the scoreboard, Gator head coach Mary Wise didn’t seem pleased with her team’s execution.
The Gators let Mississippi State get close in the second set, only winning the game by four points. Coach Wise called it a very uncharacteristic game for the Gators. She doesn’t see this trend carrying past this game, and said Gabby Mallette really gave them that second-set win.
But, as it should be with a win, things weren’t all bad for the Gators. The team got a few standout performances on the effort side of the stat sheet from Madison Moncerez, Holly Pole and Alex Holston.
Florida’s next match is against Ole Miss in Oxford Mississippi on Sunday. The Rebels are 10-3 on the year, and Wise knows the focus has to be better.
