The Tampa Bay Rays and the Texas Rangers will face off in Monday night's American League wild card tie breaker game. Extending the regular season to game number 163, the winner between the two will travel to Cleveland to play the Indian's in Wednesday's AL wild card Game.
The Rays lost two of three in Toronto this weekend but did win 7-6 Sunday. It looked like a blowout early as the Rays scored six runs in the first inning and another scored in the fourth on a double from Wil Myers bringing Yunel Escobar home. But the Blue Jays battled back and in a shaky ending, closer Fernando Rodney gave the Rays an opportunity to play one more game.
Tampa first baseman James Loney says he looks forward to playing more games.
The Rangers finished the regular season with seven straight wins and earned home field advantage for the play in game after beating the Rays four of seven during the regular season. Rangers left-hander Martin Perez and Tampa Bay's David Price will start in tonight's game, set for 7:05 p.m.
