Easley Turning Pro, Managers Fired, Wild Card Games, Tuesday Sports News and Notes…

A Gator football player will not be returning to school, playoff time in Major League Baseball while some managers are looking for work all in our Tuesday Sports News and Notes..

** Senior Gator defensive tackle Dominique Easley is turning pro, according to Florida head coach Will Muschamp. Easley, out for the year with a torn ACL, could apply for a redshirt but he will not and will turn pro instead. No decision has been reached on the same subject by injured senior receiver Andre Debose.

** On Monday Night Football, it was the New Orleans Saints using four Drew Brees touchdown passes to torch the Miami Dolphins 38-17.

** In MLB, David Price and the Tampa Bay Rays win a wild card play in game by beating Texas 5-2 last night; the Rays will now play the AL wild card game at Cleveland Wednesday.

** Tonight, the NL wild card game has Pittsburgh hosting Cincinnati; you can hear it live on ESPN 850 WRUF starting at 7:30pm.

** The Chicago Cubs fire manager Dale Sveum after just two seasons on the job. Seattle manager Erik Wedge will not return but two managers are coming back as Minnesota and the New York Mets sign extensions with their managers.

** Connecticut is looking for a new football coach after the school fires coach Paul Pasqualoni; the team is off to an 0-4 start. Former Alabama player T.J. Weist will be the interim coach; he is the offensive coordinator for the Huskies.
