The Tampa Bay Rays will face the Cleveland Indians Wednesday night with a spot in the American League Division Series on the line. The game will be the second elimination game on the road for the Rays in three nights, after they defeated the Texas Rangers 5-2 in Arlington on Monday. David Price threw a complete game in picking up the win for Tampa Bay against the Rangers. Price displayed the confidence he has in his team when asked by ESPN's Pedro Gomez how far he thought the Rays could go.
Alex Cobb will get the start for the Rays tonight, as the Indians will put the ball in Danny Salazar's hands. Cobb went 11-3 with a 2.76 ERA during the regular season, winning his last three starts. Like Price, he also believes his team will be a threat in the postseason.
For Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon, this is the fourth time he has led his ball club to the playoffs in the last six years. He says that while he would prefer his team win the division, playing in the wild card game is exciting.
First pitch tonight is set for 8, with coverage beginning on ESPN 850 WRUF at 7:30.
