The Florida Gators are coming off of a 24-7 road win over the Kentucky Wildcats and will be taking on the Arkansas Razorbacks this week. The offense looked sharp for most of the game, but it left areas for improvement.
Florida offensive coordinator Brent Pease will be looking to continue to build upon the success the offense experienced against Kentucky.
The Gators' running game was an area of success against Kentucky, picking up 246 yards. Both Matt Jones and Mack Brown have been getting a high number of touches, and Pease says although Matt Jones saw more touches against Kentucky, both he and Mack Brown are capable of doing their jobs.
Lost in the shuffle of the running backs is freshman Kelvin Taylor. Pease says there is just not enough carries for everyone to get equal touches.
Along with the running game, the passing game was effective against Kentucky. Quarterback Tyler Murphy managed the game well with 156 passing yards to go along with one touchdown and one interception. Pease says he doesn't want Murphy to do too much.
Pease does not foresee this being too difficult for Murphy, due to his calm demeanor and poise on the field.
Kickoff for the Florida-Arkansas game will be on Saturday at 7pm in Gainesville and coverage on ESPN 850 WRUF starts at 3pm.
