Gator Soccer Looking to Bounce Back

By on October 4th, 2013

The Florida Gator soccer team is hosting SEC foe South Carolina on Friday. The Gators are looking to rebound after losing to Mizzou on Sunday 1-0. The Gators couldn't finish their opportunities in the loss, going scoreless on 21 shots.  Florida coach, Becky Burleigh blamed the loss on a slow start.

The Gators hope to fare better against the Gamecocks. In last year's matchup, Florida held South Carolina scoreless in a 3-0 win. However, Burleigh believes that they can't treat this South Carolina team lightly.

South Carolina and Florida usually meet at the end of the year and this is the earliest the teams have met since 2002.   The Gamecocks come in 9-1-1 overall and 2-1 in SEC play while the Gators are 8-2-1 and 2-1 in league play.

The match is set to start at 7 pm at James G. Pressly Stadium and ESPN 850 WRUF has live coverage starting at 6:50pm.
