Tonight's Area High School Football Games

By on October 4th, 2013

High school football action is plentiful tonight. On one end of the spectrum,  two undefeated teams look to keep their perfect season alive as Union County (5-0) takes on Dixie county (3-0). Union County head coach Ronny Pruitt is pleased at his teams performance, but says the Tigers must be calm and stay true to their identity to come out victorious.

“So we focus more on what we're going to do, what we're not going to do, and stick to our game plan. Once we get our game plan, you know, we're going to stick to that and just stay true to what we have practiced all week. We can't control what they do, or what they have. We're going to line up against what they have and the better team is going to win.”

On the other end of the spectrum, two teams are still searching for their first win of the season as Oak Hall (0-5) will face St Francis (0-5) . Last week, Oak Hall had to forfeit their game due to injuries and head coach Scott McDaniel says injuries are still a problem, but the team has enough on the roster to compete.

“Well, everybody that could get healthy for this game is healthy. We still have a bunch of kids out. We're still probably down five guys. We're a week away from getting Chase Turnell back. He won't play this week, but he will make it in next week.”

Both of tonight's games are slated for a 7pm kickoff.
