The Florida Gator football team lost its first SEC game this season when it lost at LSU 17-6 Saturday in Baton Rouge. The Gators fall to 4-2 overall and to 3-1 in the SEC.
Florida trailed 14-3 at halftime and cut the deficit to 14-6 in the fourth quarter on the second field goal kicked by redshirt junior Francisco Velez but the Tigers came right back to kick a field goal of their own to make it a two score game and the Gators were not able to score any more points.
LSU running back Jeremy Hill ran for over 100 yards in the win in a game for the Tigers that turned into an old fashioned big time run affair.
Florida will play at Missouri next week; the Tigers are unbeaten in the SEC East after upsetting Georgia but they did lose their starting quarterback James Franklin for perhaps the year with a shoulder injury.
Coverage of the game on ESPN 850 WRUF will start at 9:15am Saturday.
