** The Gator football team drops to 22nd in both major polls after losing at LSU on Saturday. Florida now travels to face Missouri, ranked 14th in the USA Today Top 25 poll but also without its starting quarterback, James Franklin, who is out for the year with an injury.
** Missouri sets atop the SEC East with a 2-0 record but the Gators control their own destiny; win out in the league and they go to the SEC title game. But Florida must still play Georgia and at South Carolina as well as hosting Vanderbilt.
** The Tampa Bay Bucs and the Jacksonville Jaguars are still winless in NFL play; the Jags put up a good fight before losing at unbeaten Denver 35-19 while Tampa Bay loses at home to Philadelphia 31-20.
** Monday Night Football tonight has Indianapolis playing at San Diego.
** In baseball's American League Championship Series, the Boston Red Sox rally from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Detroit Tigers 6-5 to tie the series at 1-1; Detroit hosts Game 3 tomorrow.
** Tonight, Game 3 of the NLCS has Los Angeles hosting St.Louis with LA down 2-0 in the series.
