Gators football head coach Will Muschamp opened his weekly press conference voicing his displeasure with his football team.

“No different than I felt Saturday after the game we got beat on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and any time that happens it makes it difficult to win football games,” Muschamp said.

Florida (4-2), (3-1) faces Missouri (6-0), (2-0) this week on the road, and will have to play the SEC East’s number one team without running back Matt Jones.

“We thought it was a sprain in the knee, turns out it was a torn meniscus, and he’ll definitely be out,” Muschamp said about Jones.

Mack Brown, Kelvin Taylor, and Mark Herndon will all play roles in filling the void left by Jones.

Linebacker Ronald Powell is hobbled by an ankle injury and Muschamp hopes to have Powell back at practice by Wednesday.

Missouri will have to play the Gators without their starting quarterback James Franklin. Franklin separated his right shoulder in a 41-26 win over Georgia on Saturday.

Freshman Maty Mauk will take over at quarterback for Franklin. Mauk threw just three passes in relief of Franklin, completing all three passes, while rushing three times for 12 yards.

Tyler Murphy and the Gators will face a Missouri defense that is tied for first in the nation with 13 interceptions.  The Tigers' defensive line has had impressive outings this season as well.

“They’re experienced on defense with six seniors, (Michael) Sam and (Kony) Ealy are two NFL-type defensive ends, both guys do a great job pressuring the quarterback and creating negative plays for them,” Muschamp said on Monday.
