The Missouri Tigers rolled up 500 yards of offense Saturday to demolish the Florida Gators 36-17 on Saturday to remain unbeaten on the season.
The Tigers got some other breaks Saturday too when SEC East rivals South Carolina and Georgia lost to Tennessee and Vanderbilt, respectively.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Matyt Mauk was very good in his first collegiate start, replacing injured starter James Franklin. Mauk threw for nearly 300 yards with one touchdown and one interception and he also ran for a score.
Florida, suffering from numerous injuries, could do little on either side of the ball. The Gator offensive line was overwhelmed by the Tiger defensive front and blitzes and the Florida defense could do little to stop the Missouri offensive attack.
Florida falls to 3-2 in the SEC and to 4-3 overall with the loss. The Gators have a bye before facing Georgia in Jacksonville in two weeks.
