Gator Football Falls To Georgia

By on November 2nd, 2013

The Florida Gator football team tried to rally from a 17-0 deficit but came up short as Georgia hangs on for a 23-20 win over the Gators Saturday in Jacksonville. The win marks the third straight win for Georgia over Florida.

After being down 17-0, Florida came back to make it 23-20 late but it was too little, too late.

Florida drops to 4-4 on the season and in the SEC the Gators are now 3-3 while Georgia improves to 5-3 overall and to 4-2 in the SEC. The Gators have now lost three games in a row, all in the SEC.

Georgia got running back Todd Gurley back for the game from injury and he ran for 100 yards while scoring two touchdowns, one running and one on a long pass reception.

The Gator defense, once a strength of the team, did not play well for large portions of the game. Georgia came out of the gates hot offensively but in the second half Florida pretty much shut Georgia down until the end of the game, when Georgia controlled the ball for the final eight minutes of the game to get the win.

Florida has a Homecoming game next week at home against Vanderbilt.
