Monday Sports Update

Some good news for the Gator men’s basketball team, a big NFL comeback and new BCS standings, all in our Monday Sports update.

** The Gator men’s basketball team plays at Jacksonville University tonight and Florida will get back the services of guard Scottie Wilbekin.   Gator coach Billy Donovan said Sunday Wilbekin will return to the team after serving a six game suspension and would be available to play Monday.

** In the NFL, a big comeback by the New England Patriots gives them a 34-31 overtime home win over the Denver Broncos Sunday night.   The Patriots trailed 24-0 at halftime before rallying for the win.

** The Tampa Bay Bucs have now won three in a row after beating Detroit on the road 24-21.  Jacksonville won its second game, downing home standing Houston 13-6 while Miami lost to Carolina 20-16.

** Monday Night Football has San Francisco facing Washington.

** The new BCS standings are out and Alabama, FSU and Ohio State remain the top teams.   Auburn moves to fourth; they’ll face Alabama this week.   Missouri is fifth; it can win the SEC East with a win over Texas A&M this week.

** The Gator football team, coming off an embarrassing lost to Georgia Southern, readies for its final game of the year Saturday at home against FSU and Gator coach Will Muschamp says linebackers Mike Taylor and Alex Anzalone may not play because of injury.

** The Phoenix Suns down the Orlando Magic 104-96 and the Suns will try to down the Miami Heat tonight.
