** Rumors continue to swirl today around the future of University of Texas football coach Mack Brown’s future; several media reports say he is going to resign at the end of the week but Brown has denied that report; he was recruiting in Florida when he denied the report.
** Two Gator football players make the Coaches All-SEC team. Freshman defensive back Vernon Hargreaves III is named first team All-SEC while senior wide receiver Solomon Patton is second team All-SEC special teams player.
** Meanwhile Ole Miss has rewarded football coach Hugh Freeze with a new contract after leading the Rebels to a 7-5 record and a Music City Bowl invite this season.
** Former Gator quarterback Danny Wuerrfel is now officially a member of the College Football Hall of Fame after induction ceremonies yesterday in New York. Wuerrfel is the ninth former Gators to be inducted.
** The Indiana Pacers beat the Miami Heat 90-84 in Indianapolis on Tuesday. Roy Hibbert scores 24 to lead the Pacers.
** The MLB Winter Meetings continue in Orlando and only one major trade has gone down so far with the LA Angels trading outfielder Mark Trumbo to Arizona. The Angels get two pitchers and the Chicago White Sox get outfielder Adam Eaton as well.
