The University of Florida football team loses another player to transfer as redshirt senior quarterback Tyler Murphy has decided to transfer to possibly be a starter. Because he has graduated, he will not have to sit out a year in order to play at another Division I school.
Murphy, who played for the first time in his career this season after starting quarterback Jeff Driskel went down with a season ending injury, apparently believed he would not have the opportunity to earn the starting job even though Gator coach Will Muschamp said the quarterback competition would be an open one at the end of the season.
Murphy played until hurting his shoulder against LSU, an injury that finally forced him to miss the rest of the season after a loss to Vanderbilt.

Murphy is the seventh offensive player to transfer this off season but none of those players were projected starters including fellow quarterback Max Staver who also left the program.
