Both University of Florida basketball teams are celebrating victories earned Tuesday night.
The Gator women at home trounce St. Francis 105-71 as every player that dressed out scores in the contest. Seven Gators scored in double figures for Florida as the Gators move to 7-3 on the season.
Florida will host 3-8 Tennessee State Friday as part of a tournament it will host over a two day period.
Meanwhile the Gator men's basketball team played a highly entertaining game as part of the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York and came away with a 77-75 win over Memphis.
Senior Casey Prather led the Gators with 22 points and scored the final eight points of the night for Florida as it held on to the win. Senior guard Scottie Wilbekin missed the front end of a one and one with 19 seconds left and after a timeout, Memphis got a good look on a layup attempt by Joe Jackson that would not go down. The rebound was knocked to half court where a desperation three point shot also did not go in and Florida held on for the win.
Florida is now 8-2 on the year and will take on Fresno State on Saturday.
