Gator Football Signs Lineman; UF Hoops Gets Transfer

The Gator football team signs a junior college lineman, the Gator men's basketball team gets a familiar name transfer and a former Gator assistant is named to start a brand new volleyball program…all in our Sports News and Notes…

** The Gator football team has a signed letter of intent from junior college offensive lineman Drew Savary.  He's a 6'5″ 320 pound player that had pledged to play at Texas Tech after playing JUCO at Tyler Junior College.

** The brother of former Gator great and current NBA player Erik Murphy is reportedly transferring to Florida.   Alex Murphy is now a redshirt sophomore at Duke University.

** Former Gator assistant and current St. Francis High School volleyball coach Nick Cheronis has accepted the position of head coach at Santa Fe College.  Cheronis will start the program from scratch in the 2014-2015 season.

** The Miami Heat rally to beat the Indiana Pacers 97-94 at home behind 32 points from guard Dwyane Wade.

** The Orlando Magic lose to the Utah Jazz 86-82, their sixth straight loss to the Jazz.
