It’s Official: Kurt Roper To Be UF’s New Offensive Coordinator

It is now official; the Gator football program has a new offensive coordinator to replace the fired Brent Pease.

Gator coach Will Muschamp announced Thursday that Duke offensive coordinator Kurt Roper would officially be the new Florida offensive coordinator starting in January.  He will also be UF’s quarterback coach.

Roper is an 18 year coaching veteran who does have coaching experience in the SEC.   He coached running backs at Tennessee while also working at Kentucky and at Ole Miss where he coached current New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

Roper is now Duke’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach as well as an Assistant Head Coach as well for head coach David Cutcliffe.   Roper will stay with the team during its bowl game and then begin his duties at Florida.

This year Duke set the school record for touchdowns with 54 and the offense was balanced, as it ran and passed for 20 plus touchdowns this season.
