** The Orlando Magic lose at Detroit 103-97 and will play at Toronto tonight.   The Miami Heat have a big game with NBA leading scorer Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

** Major League Baseball has approved the use of a protective cap for pitchers; it will not be required of pitchers to wear them and experimental use will take place in spring training.
