** The Gator softball team has started its season 6-0 after sweeping a tournament in Tampa over the weekend.   Pitcher Lauren Haeger threw a no-hitter yesterday as Florida beat Wisconsin 5-1.

** The Detroit Pistons have fired coach Maurice Cheeks less than a year into his job as the Pistons struggle at 21-29 on the year.

** Coming off a win against Oklahoma City, the Orlando Magic pull off another upset, nipping Indiana 93-92.   The Magic are still only 16-37 on the season.

** Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart has been suspended three games by the Big 12 for shoving a fan during a game against Texas Tech.

** The U.S. has four medals at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games so far, two gold and two bronze.   Action continues today.

** University of Missouri defensive star Michael Sam could be the first openly gay football player to play in the NFL; he came out in several interviews yesterday.   He is expected to be drafted this year.

** Jimmy Walker wins the AT&T Pro-Am golf tournament in California.   He beat Dustin Johnson and Jim Renner.
