** The girl’s basketball teams of Hawthorne and Chiefland are playing in the Class 1A state semi-finals today in Lakeland. Hawthorne faces Chipley while Chiefland takes on Paxton with the winners playing for the state title.
** In boy’s regional semi-final action, Eastside, Santa Fe, Chiefland and Hawthorne advance to regional finals on Friday.
** In SEC men’s hoops, Florida’s next opponent, Ole Miss, lost at home to Kentuckyh84-70 while Tennessee at home rips Georgia 67-48; more league games are on tap for tonight.
** In the NBA, Miami downs Dallas 117-106 as LeBron James scores 42 points in the win. Orlando loses 104-100 to Milwaukee.
** The Gator women’s tennis team whips FSU 7-0 Tuesday to raise its record to 7-1.
** The SEC Swimming and Diving Championships continue today in Athens, Georgia.
** Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito tweeted an apology to fellow lineman Jonathan Martin in the bullying scandal that has engulfed the organization and specific players within the organization.
** The “NFL Today” on CBS will have a new look next year. Gone are Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe and in comes recently retired tight end Tony Gonzalez.
