The third ranked Florida Gator gymnastics team has its final meet of the regular season on Friday when it travels to face Missouri.
Last week, the Gators said farewell to three seniors in their final home meet in?Mackenzie Caquatto, Lauren Rose, and Alaina Johnson. Johnson went out with a bang, setting a school and national record for her all-around total of 39.825 against West Virginia. She also took home the SEC Gymnast of the Week award. Johnson is the third different Gator to win the award this season.
Now the Gators will travel to Missouri for the first time in series history. Florida leads Missouri 12-0 all-time. The last time the teams met in the regular season, the Gators defeated the Tigers 197.30 to 194.625 at home.
“We still have the best part of our season to come so we’re turning around quickly and focusing on that and heading on out to Missouri,” said Gator?coach Rhonda Faehn. “We have just a few days of training and a quick turnaround, and we’re looking forward to going there for our last regular season competition before we get prepared for SECs.”
This will be Florida’s?last meet before the SEC Championships in Alabama next weekend.
Meet time against the Tigers is set for 7:30 in the Hearnes Center.
