As many expected, the top ranked Florida men’s basketball team is the overall number one seed for the upcoming NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Florida is the top seed in the South Region and will play Thursday in Orlando against the winner of a play-in game between Albany and Mount St. Mary’s.
Some familiar programs are in Florida’s bracket; Kansas is a number two seed and Syracuse is a number three seed. ?Ohio State is a four seed and VCU, coached by former Gator assistant Shaka Smart, is also in this regional.
The other top seeds for the NCAA Tournament are Arizona, unbeaten Wichita State and Virginia.
Only two other SEC teams made the NCAA Tournament field; Kentucky is an eight seed in Wichita State’s bracket and will face Kansas State in its first round match. ? Tennessee is also in but is in a play-in game against Iowa.
