NCAA Men’s Hoops Tournament Field Set; Monday Sports Update

The field is now set for the upcoming NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, Gatornationals is history, and much more in our Monday Sports Update.

** Florida is the overall number one seed in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.?? The other number one seeds are?Arizona, Virginia and unbeaten Wichita State.? Only three SEC teams make the field in Florida, Kentucky and Tennessee; the Vols have a play in game to play in making the field.

** The Florida women’s basketball team finds out its NCAA Tournament fate tonight; most expect Florida to make the field.

** The NIT field is set and Florida State, SMU, Minnesota and St.John’s are the top seeds after not making the NCAA Tournament field.

** The NHRA Gatornationals are history for another year.? Doug Kalitta wins in Top Fuel, Robert Hight took the Funny Car title and Allen Johnson wins Pro Stock.

** Today is Florida football’s annual Pro Day; it is open to the public but the weather is not supposed to cooperate as heavy rain is expected.

** Former Gator linebacker Brandon Spikes leaves the New England Patriots and signs a deal with Buffalo.

** The Miami Heat down the Houston Rockets 113-104 at home Sunday.?? San Antonio became the first NBA team to 50 wins this season when they beat Utah 122-104.

** Carl Edwards takes the NASCAR checkered flag at Bristol Sunday, beating out Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Aric Almirola.
