Gator Men’s Hoops In NCAA Tournament Action Today

The Florida men’s basketball team tries to extend its stay in the NCAA Tournament today when it plays Pittsburgh; you can hear the game live on Country 103-7 The Gator starting at 11:35am.

Florida struggled in its first NCAA Tournament game, getting by the Albany Great Danes 67-55 while Pittsburgh, a nine seed, mauled eight seed Colorado in its opening game.

Florida, the overall number one seed in the NCAA Tournament, has not been playing great basketball of late but it has been winning and at this time of year, that is what matters most.

Still, most believe Florida will have to play better if it is to get by the Panthers, who are playing well in postseason.   Pittsburgh is a team that has size inside and a productive bench as well.

The NCAA Tournament has been full of surprises so far with teams like Stephen F. Austin, Harvard and Mercer upsetting better seeded teams.   Three seed Duke is sent home after losing to Mercer and VCU was sent packing after losing to Stephen F. Austin.

Florida is hoping it won’t be one of those teams sent packing early as well.
