The fourth-ranked University of Florida softball team will travel this weekend to Knoxville, Tennessee, to face the third-ranked Tennessee Volunteers.
The Gators (31-4, 5-4 SEC) are coming off losing their first series of their 2014 campaign to seventh-ranked Alabama and a mid-week victory over UCF. Tennessee (28-3, 5-1 SEC) is coming off a sweep of South Carolina.
In last season’s series between the two teams, the Gators won the series, with each game going into extra innings. The Gators also lead the all-time series against the Volunteers 43-21.
After the series against Tennessee, the Gators return home Wednesday (April 2) to host in-state rival Florida State.
Friday’s game begins at 6 p.m., with 1 p.m. starts Saturday and Sunday. Radio coverage for Friday’s games will be on ESPN 850 WRUF.
