The Florida Gator men’s basketball team is Elite Eight bound for the fourth straight year after defeating the UCLA Bruins in the Sweet Sixteen by a score of 79-68 Thursday in Memphis.

The Gators were led on the night by sophomore Michael Frazier II who led all scorers with 19. The Gators shot an astounding 50 percent from the field and 38 percent from three. The Bruins were led by sophomore Jordan Adams who finished with 17 points, scoring right at his average shooting 7 of 15 from the field and 1 of 5 from three.

The Gator defense remained strong throughout holding the Bruins to just 68 points, 13 under their average and it also held the Bruins to just 16 percent shooting from long distance.

The Gators now move on to Saturday’s regional final against the 11 seed Dayton Flyers.
