Monday Sports Update…

The Boston Marathon runs today a year after tragedy, the NBA and NHL playoffs are in full swing and we’ve got baseball results too in our Monday Sports Update…

** The Boston Marathon runs today one year after a bombing during the race killed and injured many at the event.   The Boston Red Sox also play the Baltimore Orioles as part of Patriots Day.

** Florida gymnastics has another win; after the team won a second straight national title, Bridget Sloan brings home the individual title in the uneven bars competition.

** The Gator men’s tennis team loses in the finals of the SEC Tournament to Texas A&M and the Gator women’s golf team finished tied for 10th at the SEC Championship.

** The NBA playoffs are in full swing; defending champion Miami got off to a good start with a 99-88 win over Charlotte.   The other Sunday winners were Washington, San Antonio and Portland.  Two games are slated for tonight.

** The NHL playoffs are going on as well and the Tampa Bay Lightning are up against it; they lose to Montreal 3-2 and are now down 3-0 in the series.  Philadelphia and Boston also get wins with four more games scheduled for tonight.

** In baseball, New York beats Atlanta 4-3; Miami edges Seattle 3-2 for a series sweep and New York beats Tampa Bay 5-1.  Miami begins a series at Atlanta today while the Rays are off.
