A lot going on in the sports world in our Tuesday Sports Update…
** In the NBA Playoffs, LeBron James drops 49 points on the New Jersey Nets to lead the Heat to a 102-96 win and a 3-1 lead in their best of seven series. Portland beats San Antonio but still trails 3-1 in that series. Tonight, Indiana can wrap up its series with Washington with a win and the LA Clippers face Oklahoma City.
** The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking for a new coach today after firing Mike Brown after just one season in his second stint in coaching the franchise.
** In the NHL Playoffs, Montreal blanks Boston 4-0 to even that series at 3-3; a seventh and deciding game will be played Wednesday in Boston. Anaheim beat the LA Kings 4-3 to go up 3-2 in that series. Tonight, the New York Rangers are at Pittsburgh and Chicago visits Minnesota.
** In baseball, the Miami Marlins may lose star pitcher Jose Fernandez for the season. He has been placed on the 15 day disabled list but reports are surfacing he may have to have season ending arm surgery.
** In baseball action, Seattle blasts Tampa Bay 12-5 while Miami loses to the LA Dodgers 6-5 and Atlanta falls at San Francisco 4-2.
** Two more Gator football players have signed free agent deals when defensive backs Marcus Roberson and Louchiez Purifoy sign NFL contracts.
