** Today, Florida football coach Will Muschamp is scheduled to talk about his team in the midst of a bye week. We’ll see if Muschamp announces any personnel changes following Florida’s loss to Alabama last week.
** UF has announced members to its 2015 Hall of Fame class. Among those going in are basketball star Matt Bonner, golfers Camilo Villegas and Camilo Benedetti and volleyball player Nicole McCray. A banquet to honor all the inductees will take place next April.
** In baseball, the Pittsburgh Pirates clinch a playoff spot with a win last night over Atlanta and a loss by Milwaukee. Pittsburgh has now made the postseason in back to back years.
** Tampa Bay beats Boston 6-2 while Miami blanks Philadelphia 2-0 in other MLB games involving Florida teams.
** Texas football coach Charlie Strong has dismissed a ninth player from his team when offensive lineman Kennedy Estelle was let go for a violation of team rules.
** Mississippi State will be without center Dillon Day after he was suspended by the SEC for “multiple flagrant and unsportsmanlike acts” in a win over LSU last week.
