** Former Gator offensive coordinator Charlie Weis was fired as the head coach of Kansas on Sunday. Weis had one only one Big 12 game in his tenure with the Jayhawks.
** Former Gator defensive assistant and current Texas coach Charlie Strong met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss how Strong is keeping discipline high in his program.
** Europe once again wins golf’s Ryder Cup, this time by a 16 and a half to an 11 and a half score.
** The NFL sees the Tampa Bay Bucs rally to get their first win of the year, a 27-24 win over Pittsburgh on a touchdown pass with 12 seconds to go in the game. Jacksonville remains winless after losing to San Diego 33-14 and Miami is 2-2 after beating winless Oakland 38-14.
** The Monday Night Football game tonight has Kansas City facing New England.
** In baseball, the regular season is now over and it went out with a bang as Washington’s Jordan Zimmerman throws a no-no against Miami. The postseason begins on Tuesday.
** Jeff Gordon wins the NASCAR race in Dover, Delaware on Sunday as four drivers were eliminated from the Chase for the Cup. Kurt Busch, Greg Biffle, Aric Almirola and AJ Allmendinger were the racers eliminated.
