A big shake up in the college football polls, LSU-Florida football game time, NFL results, baseball teams advance in the playoffs and more in our Monday Sports Update…
** After a weekend where four of the top six teams lose, a big shake up today in the rankings in college football. FSU is number one, followed by Auburn and then Mississippi State and Ole Miss tied for third in the Associated Press poll.
** As Florida readies to face LSU Saturday, both teams have quarterback issues. Gator starter Jeff Driskel was pulled at Tennessee last week and LSU was crushed 41-7 by Auburn and both of their quarterbacks, including a freshman, were ineffective.
** By the way, the LSU-Florida start time this Saturday will be 7:30 pm with the game on the SEC Network.
** In the NFL, Tampa Bay loses to New Orleans in overtime 37-31 and Jacksonville remains winless after losing 17-9 to Pittsburgh. On Monday Night Football, Seattle visits Washington.
** The Gator soccer and volleyball teams remain unbeaten in SEC play. Soccer downs Arkansas 3-1 while volleyball sweeps Mississippi State on the road.
** In the baseball playoffs, Kansas City and Baltimore advance to play each other after the Royals eliminate the LA Angels and the Orioles bounce the Detroit Tigers. In the National League, San Francisco goes for a series sweep against Washington today while the St. Louis-LA Dodgers series is tied 1-1 with Game 3 today.
** Joey Logano wins the NASCAR race in Kansas City to assure himself a spot in the next round of the Chase for the Cup.
