** The 2015 Hall of Fame class for baseball is officially announced at 2 pm today. Most expect pitchers Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson and John Smoltz to be elected today and others could be as well.
** In college football, Vanderbilt has hired a new offensive coordinator in Andy Ludwig, who leaves Wisconsin. Mississippi State has hired Manny Diaz to be its new defensive coordinator, replacing Geoff Collins who moved to the same spot with Florida.
** In pro football, coaching vacancies are still out there with lots of rumors but no one hired as of yet for the Chicago Bears, Oakland Raiders, NY Jets and Atlanta Falcons.
** In college hoops, the SEC season gets underway tonight for the men with four games. Two SEC teams, Kentucky and Arkansas, are currently ranked going into conference play.
