Top Ten Gator Swimmers To Take On Tigers

Florida swimming travels to Auburn to take on the Tigers on Saturday as the dual meet season comes to a close. The last time the two teams met, both the men and the women left with a win. Both teams have the upper hand overall, leading the all time series against the Tigers.

The seventh ranked men’s team take number six Auburn in a meet that is likely to be a close one. The men come off a 173-126 win against Florida State. The eighth ranked Gator women’s team will face an Auburn squad that is ranked tenth nationally.  The Gator women’s team also comes off a 185-115 win against Florida State.

The last time the Gators met Auburn, the Florida women won 12 out of 16 events, including a sweep in the diving events. The men won 11 events and both relays.

At the Georgia Tech Invitational in November, both teams made NCAA ‘A’ automatic times for the postseason. These times were clocked for the women’s 200 and 400 free relay, Caleb Dressel in the 50 free, Jessica Thielmann in the 1,650 free and Dan Wallace in the 500 free.

The teams travel back to Gainesville to swim against Tennessee on January 31 in the O’Dome for the final dual meet of the season.
