** The first LPGA event of the season is being held at the Golden Ocala golf course and second round action starts today. The first round leaders are Jessica Korda, Stacy Lewis and Azahara Munoz at six under par 66.
** The Florida women’s basketball team faces Missouri tonight at home. Florida lost to Mizzou earlier this year on the road but the Gators do come off a home win Sunday against Arkansas.
** In men’s SEC hoops action, LSU downs South Carolina 64-58 and Ole Miss knocks off Mississippi State 79-73. Tonight, number one Kentucky faces Missouri.
** In the NBA, the Atlanta Hawks win their franchise best 17th straight game by downing Brooklyn 113-102.
** The season is officially over for LA Lakers guard Kobe Bryant who has surgery for a torn rotator cuff.
** FSU football coach Jimbo Fisher has signed an eight year contract extension to stay with the Noles.
