The Florida men’s basketball team plays its final regular season home game tonight when it hosts Texas A&M.
Florida (14-15, 7-9 SEC) desperately needs to win this game to have any realistic shot at making a postseason tournament. The Gators close the regular season at unbeaten Kentucky.
Texas A&M (20-8, 11-5 SEC) is trying to pad its credentials to get an NCAA Tournament bid. The Aggies defeated Florida 63-62 earlier this season in College Station.
Florida coach Billy Donovan says guard Michael Frazier II will probably still not play as he tries to recover from an ankle injury.
Coach Billy Kennedy’s Aggies are led by junior guard Daniel House who averages 15 points a game but in the game earlier this year it was 6’9″ forward Kourtney Roberson who had a big game, scoring 20 points.
In the first game between the two teams, guard Eli Carter led Florida with 22 points on 9 of 17 shooting. Sophomore Chris Walker also had a solid game, going 5 for 5 from the field with 11 points. However, Florida only took seven free throws in the game (going 4 of 7) and shot just 6 of 26 from beyond the arc.
The Aggies and Gators are the two worst free throw shooting teams in the league but in the first meeting, A&M hit 11 of 13 from the stripe.
You can catch the game live on Country 103-7 The Gator starting at 8:25 pm.
