** The Florida men’s basketball team returns to .500 at 15-15 after beating Texas A&M 66-62 last night in Gainesville; up next, a trip to top ranked Kentucky this weekend.
** The Florida women’s basketball team opens play in the SEC Tournament tonight with a game against Auburn.
** The Florida baseball team is now 10-2 after losing at UCF last night 4-3. The same two teams play tonight in Gainesville.
** Gator lacrosse gets a big win over Johns Hopkins Tuesday 11-8 and senior Shannon Gilroy scores two goals to become Florida’s all time leading scorer.
** The Florida softball team returns to action today with a game at Long Beach State. The 21-0 Gators will stay out west to play in a tournament starting tomorrow.
** In other SEC men’s hoops action, Kentucky remains unbeaten with a 72-64 road win at Georgia. Missouri upsets Auburn 63-61 and Ole Miss knocks off Alabama 82-74. More league games to be played tonight.
** In the NBA, the Denver Nuggets fire coach Brian Shaw after going 20-39 so far this season; he was in his second season as the team’s head coach.
** And a reported NFL trade has Philadelphia running back LeSean McCoy going to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonso.
