** Duke wins the men’s college basketball national championship with a 68-63 come from behind win over Wisconsin last night. Coach Mike Krzyzewski wins his fifth national title with the Blue Devils.
** Can Connecticut win yet another national title in women’s college basketball? We’ll find out tonight as U-Conn faces Notre Dame.
** The Gator football team gets some bad injury news at a position they are painfully thin at when offensive lineman Rod Johnson goes down with an injury (numbness in fingers) suffered in a scrimmage last week; he will miss the rest of spring.
** Major League Baseball had its big opening day games yesterday and Atlanta edges Miami 2-1 while Tampa Bay loses 6-2 to Baltimore.
** The Gator baseball team hosts Stetson tonight; Florida beat the Hatters earlier this season.
** The Basketball Hall of Fame has new members today, including former star players such as Spencer Haywood, Jo Jo White and Dikembe Mutombo. Also in is former WNBA star Lisa Leslie, former official Dick Bavetta and former ABA standout Louie Dampier. Oh, and Kentucky coach John Calipari is in too as is former player and coach Tom Heinsohn.
