** The Gator baseball team (41-16) stays alive in the SEC Tournament with an 11-2 thumping of Auburn. Florida plays tonight at 7:30 against Arkansas, a 10-5 loser to LSU yesterday.
** In other games in the SEC Tournament Thursday, Alabama edges Missouri 4-3 to eliminate the Tigers and Texas A&M drubs Vanderbilt 6-1.
** The Gator softball team hosts a Super Regional starting Saturday against Kentucky; if Florida wins the best two of three series, it will again go to the College World Series.
** Some high school football jamborees in the area tonight has Fort White hosting Newberry and PK Yonge at Union County. Williston is at Chiefland.
** In the NBA Western Conference Final, Golden State goes up 2-0 on Houston with a 99-98 home win. Tonight, Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final with Cleveland at Atlanta.
** In the NHL Western Conference Final, Anaheim nips Chicago 2-1 to go up 2-1 in the series. Tonight in the East, Tampa Bay hosts the New York Rangers up 2-1 in the series.
** In baseball, Tampa Bay blanks Oakland 3-0 to go into first place in the AL East. Atlanta mashes Milwaukee 10-1 and Miami is 0-4 with a new manager as Arizona completes a series sweep with a 7-6 win.
** Former Gator Preston Tucker hit his first career big league home run as a pinch hitter last night but his Houston Astros lost 6-5 to Detroit.
