The 13th ranked Ole Miss Rebels (5-1) travel to Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium to take on an undefeated Memphis (5-0) football team Saturday.
Mississippi quarterback Chad Kelly is entering this game with confidence as he just went for 24 for 33 for a career high of 384 yards, with three touchdowns in a win last week. Leading the Tigers is Paxton Lynch who has thrown 10 touchdowns this season without a pick. Mississippi head coach Hugh Freeze gave credit to Lynch’s talent.
Freeze also knows this game is on upset alert.
Ole Miss earned the win last season 24-3 in Oxford, but don’t count the undefeated Tigers team out.
The Tigers are on a 12 game winning streak spanning from last season including impressive wins earlier this season against Cincinnati and South Florida. With their bye week, Memphis has had two weeks to prepare for the top ranked rival.
Mississippi’s season took a hit two weeks ago, when the Rebels went on the road to Gainesville and were upset by the Florida Gator football team 38-10 to receive their only loss this season. Ole Miss regained some momentum last week with a 52-3 win over New Mexico State.
