Eastside’s Jeff Parker Steps Down

The Eastside High School Rams will have to find a new football coach for next year, as current coach Jeff Parker has decided to step down at the end of the season.
Parker states his decision was to spend more time with his daughters as they go through high school. Parker says it is going to be hard for him to leave his position and his team, but he has to do it for the sake of spending time with his family.
Though Parker will step down from coaching the football team, he will stay on at Eastside as a dean and help out with the school’s mentor program. Parker notes that the team he is leaving now is one of the best he has ever coached, and he is proud of the resiliency his players showed throughout the season.
The Rams only have one win this season, but will make an appearance in the playoffs as their district features only three teams and they finished second in the district.  Eastside’s next game will be against the Hardee Wildcats Friday night at 7:30.
