The Baltimore Ravens (2-8) will travel to Cleveland to play the Browns (3-7) in an AFC North face off on Monday Night football. The teams have two of the worst records in the league and are battling for third in the AFC North.
The teams had have two difficult seasons, one marred by injuries and the other by controversy.
The Ravens have struggled with an incredible amount of injuries this season, losing star linebacker Terrell Suggs, Quarterback Joe Flacco, Wide receivers Steve Smith Sr. and Breshad Perriman, and running back Justin Forsett for the season. The team also has been without tight end Dennis Pitta, who has hardly played since receiving a five-year 32 million dollar contract in 2014.
The Browns on the other hand, have been surrounded by controversy lately regarding second year quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Manziel was recently demoted to third string after a video of him partying was released during their bye-week. Manziel had been in rehab for alcohol abuse this past summer, so the video of him partying is especially concerning.
Mike Pettine, head coach for the Cleveland Browns, was very disappointed in his young quarterbacks actions.
The move will put Josh McCown, who was the Browns starter at the beginning of the season, back under center while quarterback Matt Schuab and running back Javorius “Buck” Allen will fill in for Joe Flacco and Justin Forsett respectively.
Both teams, while not out of the playoff race yet, most likely miss post season play and are in contention for the number one pick in the upcoming draft.
