Preview: Gator Softball Host Mississippi State in Weekend Series

No. 1 Florida softball (42-3, 12-3 SEC) resumes conference play tonight as they host Mississippi State (24-20, 3-12 SEC) in a three game weekend series at Pressly Stadium. This weekend will wrap up an eight-match game homestand for the gators.

Although the Bulldogs have only won three games in SEC play, they defeated top contenders No. 3 Auburn and No. 4 LSU. One of the three losses the Gators suffered comes from Auburn back in March. Florida head coach Tim Walton says Mississippi State plays with a lot of emotion.

Mississippi State are coming off a 4-0 win against Southern Mississippi, but head coach Vann Steudeman says she knows they are underdogs against Florida.

Friday and Saturday’s games will be streamed on SEC Network + and Sunday’s game will air on the SEC Network.
