GHS Softball to Face Niceville in Regional Final

What a game it was to earn a spot in the regional final. With one out and a runner on, Gainesville doubled up Columbia to defeat the Tigers 2-1. The head coach of the Purple Hurricanes Pete Mariano knows how important the win was. The No.1 ranked team in 7A, Gainesville will head to Niceville with a key match up with the Eagles.

So what’s on the line? A birth to the state semifinals in what will be the 7A final four. That will take place next week in Vero Beach, Florida. It is going to be the biggest test thus for for GHS but Mariano knows his team will be ready.

It is all going to come down to pitching and on the mound will be Katie Chronister who is going to stay in Gainesville after her high school days are up. She is a commit to the University of Florida. Expect her to make a huge impact says her head coach Pete Mariano.
