Gator Football Recap: Playing for pride

This weekend’s 28-20 loss to South Carolina has eliminated Gator football from a possible bowl berth. Many wonder what will motivate Florida for the rest of the season.

Shannon had a simple response.

With no bowl potential, Shannon wants the team to focus on the two home games the Gators have left.

Florida takes on UAB and Florida State to close out their season.

Shannon not only expects his team to put forward effort but the coaching staff too.

Shannon says that the coaches’ main priority is to get the players ready and to put the team in a position to win games.

Injury Updates

Quarterback Felipe Franks will be leading the Gators for the foreseeable future.

Malik Davis has been ruled day-to-day with undisclosed injuries.

With this development, wide receiver Dre Massey has been placed on the quarterback depth chart, taking snaps in practice.

Shannon also announced that sophomore outside linebacker T.J McCoy has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
