Preview: Gators Gymnastics Head to Missouri

The No. 5 Gators Gymnastics team is headed to Columbia, Missouri to take on the Tigers on Friday. They will close the SEC regular-season action.

Gators in Previous Meet:

Florida ended the night with a win over No. 11 Arkansas 197.725 – 196.875, but ended with senior Kennedy Baker being carried from the floor after suffering a season-ending Achilles tendon tear during her second pass.

The Gators started the meet with a season-high of 49.525 on vault and the uneven bars and then earned a 49.575 on the beam. Florida earned all the event titles of the meet, as Alicia Boren took her fourth consecutive All-Around title of 39.525.

Alex McMurtry and Rachel Slocum tied at 9.95 for the vault title. McMurtry also tied on bars (9.925) the uneven bars (9.95) and the balance beam with Rachel Gowey.

Florida Gators:

Megan Skaggs was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Tuesday. She matched her collegiate best on the uneven bars and the balance beam last Friday.

Missouri Tigers:

The Tigers competed twice last week. Missouri took on the Kentucky Wildcats on Friday and lost 97.10 -195.125 at Lexington. They then traveled to Urbana-Champaign, Illinois to take on Illinois and Illinois-Chicago on Sunday. They won 196.6250 (Illinois-Champaign 195.40, Illinois-Chicago 194.10) making it their season best. The Tigers are 5-6 overall.
