Orlando Needs Mo Magic

The Orlando Magic fell short in their game Thursday night against the Trail Blazers. The final score was 128-114 as Trail Blazers center, Damian Lillard, carried the team with 41 points to help beat the Magic.

The Magic may have taken an “L” but they are tipping their hats just like Mo Bamba and will be ready to face the Milwaukee Bucks.

This season the Bucks have completely stepped their game up, showing the Eastern Conference that they are a threat. So far the Bucks are 4-0, having already faced the Sixers, the Knicks, the Hornets, and the Pacers. These teams have all been predicted to be in the playoffs by the end of this season.

The Magic will really have to step up their game to keep up with the Bucks “not-so” secret weapon, the Greek Freak. With Giannis Antetokounmpo averaging 28.5 points, 16.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists, the Magic are going to have to tighten up their defense to pull this off.

Key to success: Mo Bamba

However, here are two words for the Magic’s key to success: Mohamed. Bamba. If Steve Clifford can play his cards right, this rookie could be the Magic’s own “not-so” secret weapon.

“He has high IQ, he is very poised on the floor and he is like any younger guy,” Clifford said. “It is going to take him some time to get use to all of it.”

“The back-to-back’s, the travel, and how a coverage is one way one night, and different the next night. The things that you can really only learn by going through it.”

Bamba has already stolen the hearts of Magic fans, now all he has to do is win them some games.

Monday night, the Magic proved themselves by beating the Boston Celtics 93-90. If the Magic can play their defense like they did Monday night, and let Bamba take the floor they truly might have a chance to beat the Bucks.

The Magic will be away, playing in Milwaukee, at the Fiserv Forum Arena on Saturday night. The game time is set for 8:30.
