The 2013 Final Four is set to get underway today in Atlanta, Georgia.
The first game of the day will tip-off at 6:09pm with the Louisville Cardinals taking on the Wichita State Shockers.
Louisville, under coach Rick Pitino, are 33-5 overall this season, and 14-4 in the Big East conference, where they are co-champions. The Cardinals are coming off an 85-63 victory over the Duke Blue Devils last Sunday in the Elite Eight. The Cardinals are led by junior guard Russ Smith with a team high 18 points per game and junior Gorgui Dieng who leads the conference in rebounds.
The Wichita State Shockers, under coach Gregg Marshall are 30-8 overall this season and 12-6 in the Missouri Valley conference. The Shockers are coming off a 70-66 victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Elite Eight. The Shockers are led by junior forward Cleanthony Early averaging 13 points a game.
The second game of the evening will tip-off at 8:49 with the Syracuse Orange facing off against the Michigan Wolverines.
Syracuse, under coach Jim Boeheim, is 30-9 overall and 10-7 in the Big East conference. The Orange are coming off a 55-39 victory over the Marquette Golden Eagles. The Orange are led by junior forward C.J Fair averaging 14 points a game and senior guard Brandon Triche averages 13 a game. Triche talks about what they can expect from the Wolverines today.
The Michigan Wolverines, under coach John Beilein, are 30-7 overall and 10-7 in the Big Ten conference. The Wolverines are coming off a 79-59 victory over the Florida Gators. The Wolverines are led by the John. R. Wooden award winner, sophomore Trey Burke averaging 18 points a game.
All four teams will be vying for a spot in Monday night’s national championship game.
